I have been in quite a funk the last few days. Granted, it was no George Clinton-type funk but it was pretty nasty. Anyway, I have been spending a lot of time delving into this whole Slashdot/Anti-Slashdot thang that’s going on. Basically, Slashdot is the geek site du jour, but several other sites have cropped up that offer more even-handed stories and much better visual appeal. Not to mention that the fuckers at Slashdot are so far out of touch with reality that I’m amazed the rarified air up there can even support life.

The two sites that I have been delving into lately are Plastic and FEED. These two sites offer wonderful stories such as the way recess can save our children or the fascinating relationship between fatty acids and schizophrenia. I highly recommend checking out these sites. FEED seems to have a more journalistic quality and the writing is layman enough for most everyone whereas Plastic has a more community roundtable feel.
