Did you see the movie Driven with Sly Stallon? Probably not judging by the box office take. Well, you didn’t miss anything except some “only happens in movies” type car crashes, and poor character development. Yes, I saw the movie, but I’m proud to say I didn’t pay to see it. I got free tickets courtesy of my friends over at Team Rahal, but it was still a waste of 2 hours of my life. But hey, movie popcorn is always good.

Anyhow, the race this past Sunday at Elkhart Lake, WS had not one, but two, of those “only happens in the movies” crashes. They were quite terrifying to see. And since you bastards only watch races to see massive crashes, here are they are, prop’s to ESPN.

This crash involves Max Wilson and Brian Herta. It was raining at the begining of the race in place visability was zero. Here, Max Wilson did not see Brain Herta hit his breaks, sending Wilson soaring over Herta’s car. Luckily no one was hurt.

Memo Gidley suffered minor injuries from this crash. The shot is from his in-car camera. The backend of his car slides out, slamming him into a bridge abutment and flipping him end over end. They had to cut his car in half to get him out. He suffered only a leg fracture. I’d love to drive those cars , but when I see crashes like that and I’m glad I only injury I risk from my job is carpel tunnel.
