It makes you scream.
Beliefnet.com has an interesting interview with my favorite radical that I love to hate - Pat Buchanan.
And I do think this: what I have found is that wherever faith dies, the culture dies, and the country and civilization begin to die. For example, people say its affluence causing the depopulation of the West. But the point is, Russia is a poor country and it is dying and Utah is a very wealthy state and it is booming because of the very strong, healthy faith - the Mormon faith - of the folks in Utah. And white folks in Texas have a higher birth rate than the white folks in California, and it’s because Texas is part of the Bible Belt. If you take Asia - the Philippines, which is Catholic, has a rising birthrate, but the Japanese birthrate is declining and their faith is dying. And there’ss not a single Islamic country I could find whose population is not growing or exploding. So I think the correlation between faith and rising populations is absolute.
Hey look ma, there are Christian extremist!

In Denver, Colorado, a 10-foot-long Burmese python killed its owner by coiling so tightly around him that the man could not breathe.
“He was handling the snake and showing it to someone when the snake wrapped around his chest,” said Rory Chetelat, spokesman for the Aurora Fire Department.
Six firefighters and police officers were needed to remove the snake and free the man.
“Two police officers tried to place their batons between the snake and the man’s neck so he could breathe,” police spokeswoman Kathleen Walsh said. The man died of asphyxiation.
Firefighters later herded the snake into its cage and turned it over to animal control. Walsh said an Aurora ordinance bans owning pet snakes longer than 6 feet
I think at one point we had a conversation about reptiles as pets on these very pages before. If I remember correctly, my point was that reptiles are aware of three things: sleep, eat, and sex. Which part do you want to be involved with?
