There is some conflicting news on the final fate of N’SYNC and their Star Wars Episode 2 cameo. No, they were not tapped to sing in the Mos Eisley pub, but rather they were slated to play Jedi Knights in a large fight scene. The original reports were they were all going to die.

But N’SYNC member Joey Fatone (who shockingly looks exactly like my cousin) reported in an interview with Carson Daily that the N’SYNC scene is going to be cut from the film because of negative fan reaction.

Before you break out the vermouth to celebrate, Lynne Hale of LucasFilm says only Lucas really knows and he’ll make that decision when he does the final editing in May.

George, listen… admit it, you screwed the pooch with Jar Jar. Please don’t make us fans swallow N’SYNC, even if it is only a split-second cameo. Lord of the Rings is nipping at your heals as the best trilogy. By pulling shit like N’SYNC cameo’s, you’re hurting the series.
