Democratic Convention

The Dem’s have opened up their convention with a bang. Too bad part of Clinton’s speech extended past the 11pm hour. I’m guessing most casual viewers turned off at that point.

But as many media outlets cover the Clinton Effect, they are overlooking the single best moment of the night, when Al Gore said:

“I’ll be candid with you. I had hoped to be back here this week under different circumstances, running for re-election. But you know the old saying: you win some, you lose some. And then there’s that little-known third category.”

Ed Kennedy just said that Cheney should’ve been “retired to an undisclosed location.” Let’s see how the GOP comes out about that one tomorrow.

Honestly, I haven’t watched more than 5 minutes of the convention. I am definitely voting Democrat, but I should still be paying attention to what they are saying. I guess I’m just another apathetic voter.

Funny how the media has essentially knighted Obama as the next great Democrat and potentially the first African-American to somehow be in the White House. It’s certainly possible, though I feel I should remind them that many people felt the same way about Julian Bond in the late 60s and early 70s.
