Who is Terrorizing Whom? Bin Bush, that’s who

It is about time that the general media is beginning to question these so-called terrorist alerts. Up till this point, only Michael Moore and us llamas seemed to openly question if they were necessary and if they were actually politically motivated.

MSNBC and Newsweek are finally asking questions. But we asked before the democratic national convention.

Right after Kerry’s much anticipated announcement that Edwards would be his running mate, Ridge quickly made a terror alert. But Ridge could offer nothing: no dates; no times, no idea of what Bin Ladin might try to do, or where he might try to do it. So it’s a short putt to say it was to get Kerry and Edwards out of the spotlight.

Then it came again. As the democratic convention winds down and the Jonh’s head out on a 21 state campaign swing with full media coverage. Then suddenly, Ridge offers a “new” terror alert. The problem was that it wasn’t new at all – the information it was based on was nearly 4 years old, dating from before 9/11.

Now I have to ask the question, who are the terrorist? Who is trying to keep the American people in a state of fear? Karl Rove’s patsy, Tom Ridge.

These are the same people that said Bill Clinton was trying to deflect attention away from the blue dress when he ordered a bombing of Kosovo to end the ethnic genocide taking place there.

Now, one can only speculate what they will do in October to manipulate your vote.

While you make some interesting points, sir, you might consider using a spellchecker next time.

Esteban, you don’t know how funny that is. We get on Mark’s ass about it all the time.

Now, to the point. I think this is just more evidence of the frat house our White House has become. It’s just a group of people who have seized power and refuse to let go, at any cost.

Esteban, in case you haven’t noticed, this is a blog not the Wall Street Journal.

Clearly the point of the content transcended whatever spelling error you saw, and not being able to argue to any level, you had to take the cheap swipe at the spelling?

Fine. I’ll address the transcendent content instead of your spelling errors.

Isn’t it ironic that the President who claims in his stump speeches that America is safer also still talks and encourages terror warnings that claim the American people are in danger?

Maybe it’s just an example of you Americans being unable to take a position and stick with it.

So President Bush is raising and lowering the threat level move often than Christina Aguilera does with her pants, and this is reflective on American’s as a whole?

That’s a stupid notion. As has been noted, many American’s have been asking if the threat levels are needed and what motivates them.

You appending the thought process of every American based on the President that may not possess the thought process of a sick bulldog, is like me judging all people named Esteban based only on you.

You make an interesting point that might be even more interesting had you noticed the bleeding words that read: “Maybe it’s just an example of you Americans …”

That, in my country, would mean the American President is merely an example of the rampant waffling that seems to plague a majority of people there, not the other way around, which is what you seemed to have deciphered.

Since the White House does seem to be a frat house, where do you think they put the keg? It couldn’t be in the Oval Office with all the traffic and the thing with Bill and Monica, but it has to be there. Someone ought to look into this. America needs to know.

Christina Aguilera lowering her pants? Now that would have made the DNC circus complete… It definitely would have given Kerry the “bounce” he needed to appear, say, alive.
Think they needed more “f-ing balloons.”

Isn’t it a catch 22? If Bush raises a terror alert and nothing happens, you devise some Leftist Commy conspiracy theory to discredit the president, and glorify Kerry. Lets say that Bush doesn’t throw out any warnings, doesn’t raise any terror alerts, then a terrorist strike happens. I’m sure you’d suck the left wing liberal teat once again and blame Bush… “Well, why didn’t he warn us?” you’d cry out. Really, what do you expect him (Bush) to do? Let’s say the CIA, FBI, Jack Bauer or whoever has intelligence that the Golden Gate Bridge is to be bombed by suicide bombers who rented Jet Skis on the 15 of this month. Well, the good people of San Fran shut the bridge down, ramp up on police protection of the area, etc. etc. Say the “due” date rolls around and nothing happens. Hurray! They thwarted the terrorist attempt (for which I’m sure you’d blame Bush for giving false terror alert info, and claim that there never really was a threat posed to the Bridge and the only reason Bush said so was because Kerry was supposed to drive across the bridge that day, but now he can’t because it’s closed down). You see my point. When giving terror alerts, you can’t be specific, because if you do, and a terror strike doesn’t happen, you’re a liar, or say it happens in a different town, or place, you’re a liar, or happens, you’re incompetent.

Instead of thinking we know the answers to all of the politics and ways to cease war in Iraq and promote world peace, I ask that everybody (who is still reading my garbage) pick up a book called Generation Kill, by Evan Write (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0399151931/qid=1092169672/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/102-3846863-0941727?v=glance&s=books&n=507846). It gives you an idea of what other people are age are doing and the life they are leading, and how all these decisions the politicians stateside make REALLY effect the world. People that don’t sit in air conditioning all day in a cozy chair. It’s about the first battalion to enter Iraq, it’s non fiction, and a must read for anybody between the ages 18-35. A wonderful perspective of what kids in our generation are really doing in the world, besides writing blogs on the internet.

August 11th, 2004 7:47 am

Yes, because I’m a kid writing a blog on the internet instead of thinking for myself. Fuck you.

Look at the FACTS:

The day after John Kerry announces Edwards as his running mate, Ridge gets on TV and says there is a terror warning. When questioned, he offers no evidence, no intell, no dates, no targets, no idea where something may happen, then says he won’t even raise the color a notch.

The day after the democratic convention, Ridge ups the terror warning at a few buildings in NYC, saying there is “new” intel. After investigation, the “new” intel is 3 years old, dating from before 9/11.

Ridge then gets on TV and says that old intel was backed up by real “new” intel from an arrest made in Pakistan. That poses another problem because the new “new” intel was uncovered on July 13. Why didn’t they raise the warning on the 13th? or the 14th? Instead they waited 4 weeks, till the day after the democratic convention.

If they could wait 4 weeks, why not wait one more week? Or, if it was so vital, why not raise the alert when the new “new” intel was found? Why wasn’t someone at the White House smart enough to think that even if the alert was completely legit, people may think they did it for politics based on how the timing was shaking out?

After all, they have experience with that type of thinking, because the republicans have pointed the finger before. Like I cited, when Clinton ordered bombing in Kosovo to start to end ethnic fighting, the Repub’s accused him trying to “wag the dog” (their words, spoken by Gingrich himself), and getting attention away from Monica.

And Esteban, you wrote: “rampant waffling that seems to plague a majority of people there…” That’s so stupid, and bigoted, I’m not even going to address it.

It looks like there are a bunch of conspiracy theorist in both political parties. It really depends on if it is an election year or not. After September 2001 a lot of people in all parties supported President Bush. 2001 was not an election year so that’s ok. That support has dwindled in direct correlation to the approach of the elections. It seems the politicians are simply doing what they do best, being politicians and manipulating every thing they can to stay in office or get into office. The worst problem is that both parties are using national security for political gain instead of actually working together and making America safer. We the American people are supporting them in thier division of the nation. We will not agree on every issue, but we need to agree on the security of our nation. We need to make it clear to the politicains that we want and need them to work with each other and then give each other the credit. Actually if that happened we would all probably die from shock that a politican did something for the good of the whole rather than what was good for them. We can argue and debate blogging the web but we sould also be contacting our congressmen and other politicians and tell them to quit playing politics and work together. Since there is grading criteria for spelling I must say that any spelling errors in this comment are the computers fault and not that of the author.
