My question is, in fact, about what Jesus would do because I have an understanding that the lesser among us are of great importance to him. This anointing the the feet by Mary doesn't seem to be relevant here because it involves one's offering and another's jealousy. But let's say it's about something else. Let's say it's an act of 'compassion' beyond my comprehension. It wouldn't be the first thing I haven't understood. But it doesn't seem to be relevant in that I can't identify an act of compassion referenced in the original post.

However, if you're saying that God may have plans I don't understand, then, of course, you're right. That need not be stated because it is obvious and God may, in fact, be using Bush in some way or another to do something. I don't purport to know that. What I do know is that regardless of how God is using someone, it does not make an individual's acts of ignorance, idiocy, or violence acceptabled merely because they may be part of some larger plan. There's that whole thing about free will that comes into play here and that is the very reason people ask themselves what Jesus would do. They know the choices they freely make should be based on what Jesus would do in a similar circumstance.

So, while he might do things that I don't understand, I'm still completely convinced that he would not "be leading his people into war under false pretenses, pretending to care about the poor while spending millions on a party, nor taking money from the elderly merely to enrich his wealthy friends."

The question in your allegorical entry isn't about what Jesus would do as much as it is about man's lack of comprehension of the purpose of God and the mission of man in this world.

King David was a ruthless dictator, a warlord, an adulterer and a muderer... Yet God still used him in a mighty way.

Likewise, Jesus was criticized by the self-rightess temple order for gratuitous partying, glutony and all the like. When Judas accused a certain female disciple of wasting money on expensive perfume for the pupose of washing Jesus' feet, his charges were similar to yours:
"The money used to buy this could have been given to the poor!" Judas exclaimed.
But Jesus pointed out that "The poor will always be with you" but in fact, he would not.
This act of compassion was beyond the comprehension of Judas, and, most people who witnessed.
Sometimes we become the self-appointed, self-righteous when trying to evaluate God's purpose.
The horror seems to surface when man has to deal with the fact that God is free to use the vessels he created anyway he chooses. Some are for common everyday purposes, and some are for divine purposes.

I just dont understand how anyone who's supposed to be so pious can so easily kill thousands of people and still have no regrets. Even a person who thought the war was right should regret all the lost lives.
