All-Time 25 Best TV Series

If you missed it back on May 24th, the SpittingLlamas television critic posted his pick of the Top 10 Television Series of All-Time. After a number of comments and much introspection, I have decided that many of the television shows not listed in the top ten would fit finely in the next 11 through 25. Here then are those series (in alphabetical order):

All in the Family
Barney Miller
Carol Burnett
Happy Days
Hill Street Blues
La Femme Nikita
Law and Order
Mod Squad
The Honeymooners
Seinfeld
The Shield
The Sopranos
St. Elsewhere
The Three Stooges
X-Files

Carol Burnett was a groundbreaking series in that it had a woman as the main character when the only show to do that before then was I Love Lucy.

Mod Squad helped make detective/police dramas all the rage and starred an African-American when that was not done. Though, now that I think about it, that puts two Bill Cosby shows in the top 25. Is that acceptable? hmm …

Wait. You’re right. Bill Cosby was in “I Spy” and Clarence Williams III, who also played Prince’s father in Purple Rain, was in “Mod Squad.” Thanks for setting me straight. Either way, though, my point still stands.
