I live in Aruba part of the year.
The bar that she was in is called 'Carlos 'n Charlies. This bar is in Oranjestad-the capitol (main) town.
The holiday in where she was staying is about a 15-20 min ride by car.
Not possible to walk. The holiday inn is at Palm beach.
The lighthouse is about a 7 min. drive from further north.
I have worked in that area so I know it very well. There is not much to do there and Carlos 'n Charlies is THE nightspot for that agegroup. all the 18 year old women go there when they visit Aruba.
Strangely enough, one of the 2 suriname brothers used to work in an internet cafe that everybody visits, including me. A skinny guy. He was always polite, whatever that means.
If you need more info about the surroundings, let me know.

"Again, why was she allowed to bar hop, visit casino’s and stay out till 2AM?" Maybe the chaperones were busy drinking cheap tequila and smoking spices they thought were weed.

Seriously, though, I suspect the chaperones may have been a little less inclined to watch the students closely since they were all high school graduates who'd likely all reached the age of consent. That being said, you'd think that she'd have one or two friends that would stick with her and never allow her to stay out alone.

From the link above:
One of three young suspects arrested Thursday in the investigation into the disappearance of an Alabama teenager has confessed to her murder, a senior police official said late Friday.

The suspect has agreed to lead police to the body of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway, the police official said.

Police did not say which of the three teenagers confessed.

The three have been identified as brothers Satish Kalpoe, 18, and Depak Kalpoe, 21, and their friend, 17-year-old Joran Van Der Sloot, the son of a judge.
