By dogmatically sticking to biblical references they lose points because most intelligent people understand that the bible is only a collection of stories, inspired by God or not. Evolutionists lose points by dogmatically sticking to using the 'scientific method' then ignoring it. For myself there are lots of 'holes' in evolutionary development of the solar system and of life on earth that science cannot explain and until they can I am satisfied to fill those in with some well thought-out mysticism. Creationism was outlawed by the supreme court. Had to find another name, other argument, other proponents and now some faux-scientific support. For a long time, these were the explanation that made sense. Newton had a good approximation with gravity. Except it's wrong, it does not work in all cases.
