The Vatican is Gay

The Vatican is set to release it’s gay-bashing tome in a few weeks. It will declare (among other things) that for a man to be ordained as a Priest, he can not be gay.

Here’s my question. If Priest’s are supposed to be celibate, then why does it matter who they are not having sex with?

Exactly my thoughts! Also, I believe they’ve said that it’s okay to be gay after being ordained, but that it should be suppressed, or some such nonsense. It’s a bit like releasing a list of the alocholic beverages you can’t consume while driving.

wow, I never thought about that. How stupid can they be?

The vatican is saying that you can’t be a practicing gay, you have to elaborate on such things now. They are being pressured by proactive groups. I don’t buy that you don’t get it. I wouldn’t call it gay-bashing. It’s part of their religion, and they aren’t insulting gays. They believe homosexual sex is sinful. To be tempted is not sin. SO yeah.

The Vactican’s order said that no one could be ordained that is gay or supports “the gay culture.” It does not apply just to those that are “practicing.’

If they felt it is such a sin to issue such a proclamation, then they should issue something similar saying that no one can be ordained that “makes sexual advances toward children” or are “supportive of those that make sexual advances toward children.”

I’m guessing if they issued something like that, they’d have to fire nearly every priest, and every bishop that decided to transfer priests instead deal with the issue.

wow, after reading a bunch of this site I have come to the conclusion that Mark.. although tackling some heady issues, isn’t so heady.

Mark is the bigot he seems to be calling everyone else.
Mark is the guy yelling racist while attending the Vegan only club.
Mark see’s only the “explosive” parts of an issue that the media feeds him, he does not look deeper. Mark puts his own stamp of approval or disapproval on whatever happens to show up on CBS or in the NYT.
Mark doesn’t investigate, he judges.

Mark is a media sheep and no doubt a far left liberal (although he doesn’t know it) a sad shame, so many us do not really know were being “led”

This is stupid. The church is against sex before marriage and gay marriage. They believe gayness is a choice..its a sexual act. If you fuck someone in the ass..you are not a race..you are doing a sexual act. Get it right , liberal.

Thanks Eric. What parts of my post are you referring to?

How am I the bigot? That I think gay people should be treated equally? If that makes me a bigot, print it on a shirt and I’ll wear it in public.

If sex is a choice, then when did you choose to be straight? Where you sitting around one day and you weighted the options, and decided straight was the way for you?

If you are like me, it wasn’t a choice. I’m straight and that’s it.

So why do people think gay people choose to be gay?

which means what? It means you would rather insult via cliche rather than debate with maturity.

If the most important part about the Christian faith is a person’s relationship with Christ, then why does the church think it necessary to issue proclamations at all? While guidance is, of course, crucial, a proclamation is something I don’t understand.

To start off I grew up Roman, however, I am not Roman Catholic now. I am a member of the clergy of an Independent Catholic Christian Church. It always struck me, while I was a Roman Catholic, at the number of gay priests and male religious that I knew. These were men that were dedicated to serving the church and serving the people, but most importantly is in all of this they were men dedicated to Christ and taught me the value and the importance of that relationship.

It also strikes me as funny that the number of straight priests that I knew were the ones that were the most immoral men. I knew several of them that would make lewd comments about women and were drunk half the time.

In most cases that I have seen and/or read the perpetrator was straight and not gay. Funny how this whole child abuse situation became a “gay” issue.

I know that the church says that it is okay to be “gay” but you cannot “practice” it. Funny, I don’t hear the church saying that it’s okay to be straight but you cannot practice it. As if a person’s sexuality can be practiced. I cannot practice being a male. I just am. So if a person is gay or straight it is apart of who they are and is not the whole sum total of their being.

Christ Himself said that the world would know us by our love for one another and by the fruit that our lives produce. If you are a follower of Christ should you not love your fellow man/woman as Christ loved the Church. He loved the church so much that He gave His life for it. Do you, can you love as He loved, without any prejudices? He came to show man that a relationship with the Father, the Creator of all, was and is possible.

He said, “How can you love God and hate your brother?” and again, “He who is without sin cast the first stone.” and again, “For with the same measure that you judge a person, you will aslo be judged.” Yet we see such hatre, name-calling and bigotry being done all in the name of Christ. It must sadden the Father to see such atrocious behaviour among those that name the Name of Christ.

The disciples stated “Lord when did we see you naked, or give you drink, clothe you, etc.?” Jesus said to them “When you do these things to the least of my brothers, you have done them unto Me.”

Jesus calls each person, regardless of their sexual orientation, to enter into a relationship with Him and to follow Him.

So I ask you who name the name of Christ, do you love with the same measure that Christ did? Are you willing to give up your life for your brother or sister?
