I Can’t Stand It Anymore

I cannot take anymore of Bush’s bullshit. Yes, I should be more eloquent. I should choose my words more carefully so that I might reach more of you “in the back” as opposed to screaming at the converted. However, the bile in my gut simply allows me to do nothing but scream at the lying insanity of the Bush administration.

With Bush being caught lying again, this time about the levees in New Orleans, it’s good news that Lewis H. Lapham is finally calling for his impeachment in this month’s “Harper’s.” Sure, others online have been saying this for a while, but this is the first more or less mainstream publication to come out and scream for his dismissal.

We tried to impeach Clinton for getting a blowjob and not wanting to tell us about it, but here we have a president who has lied about WMD, terrorism, war, natural disasters, shootings, and who knows what else. He simply cannot be trusted. He is ruining this country. It will take us decades to fix the devastation he has wrought to our place in the geopolitical schema.

We have given full control of our country to a megalomaniacal dumbass who doesn’t even have the charisma to pull off a wedding toast. This man and those around him are poison.

“I cannot take anymore of Bush’s bullshit. Yes, I should be more eloquent.”

Yes you should be more eloquent…i.e. provide some facts to back up your “bullshit”.

How all of a sudden did he “lie” about Katrina now that some video has come out that he was informed about the levees not holding up? No shit! Everyone knew about that! This isn’t news….just another excuse to rehash some negativity, and live in the past. So what did he lie about? He *may* be guilty of inaction in this case, but not lying.

Go look in the mirror, and ask yourself if “screaming” misinformation and negativity is any good for this country…since you seem to be so concerned about it.

March 4th, 2006 12:18 am

He lied because he claimed that “no one could have predicted that the levees would break,” yet the video clearly shows him being apprised of that fact days before the hurricane hit and before he made this statement. That’s a lie no matter who you ask. It’s the same way he lied about the WMD and the connections between Iraq and al Queda. The man’s web of lies are simply falling apart.

You conservatives always pull that “if you love this country” crap anytime someone shows you something that doesn’t jibe with your evangelical vision of W as the second coming. Give it up. Constantly rubbing your “patriotism” in the face of liberals does nothing but make us see that an image of propriety is all that you have. There is no substance behind the image.

Really….very funny quotes…. Man made Animals…

March 4th, 2006 11:27 am

There has been a $30M / yearly budget to “fix” the N.O. levees for decades now that typically got re-routed into other “projects”. Local, State and Fed authorities have known for 20+ years it was only a CAT 3 levee. Those same folks rolled the dice and spent the funds elsewhere. They lost. W didnt tell them where to spend the $. If the media and folks like you spent 20% of the time you spend trying to “get” W on something productive (Like a REAL Democratic Plan instead complaining) we would ALL be better off. I am conservative, and quite frankly, Im on the very edge of not caring anymore. Who is John Galt? Fred

March 4th, 2006 12:05 pm

Nice reference with Galt…

As to the other topics, you are changing the subject. I am complaining about Bush being a liar. I am not concerned with whether or not the levees *should* have held or not. What I am concerned with is the fact that Bush bold-faced lied about what he knew. He was told that the levees were a concern and two days later he tells a reporter that “no one thought the levees were a concern.” That’s a lie and it’s one that got quite a few people killed.

As for us getting W on something productive, would impeaching him for getting a blow job be productive? Clearly, it was considered that way by your cronies when Clinton was in office.

March 4th, 2006 12:21 pm

Now you change the subject. The impeachment wasnt about a blowjob. The impeachment was absolutely about perjury. Go ask your local DA if he cares what the topic is about when someone commits perjury. TOPICS dont matter. Perjury is simple. Perjury is a felony. Clinton is a felon. Probably mulitiple times. You dont have to be convicted to *BE* a felon, you are or you are not. Believe it or not, Ive kinda warmed up to ole Bill…since getting the crap scared out of my by John Kerry and what we could have had, Bill doesnt seem so bad. John Kerry served in Vietnam by the way.

The amazing thing is, in all my years (and there a lot of them!), I have never seen such angry liberals. You guys are foaming at the mouth these days. It is a new SCANDAL every day. There is no substance to any liberal leader’s points in disucssions anymore (or Republicans for that matter). The only thing said is that W sucks and America sucks. Listen for it, its disturbing, and cant be denied. The only thing that the R’s and D’s care about anymore is staying in power.

Ive outrun this whole thing financially and Im checked out and have left this mess to you guys / Im done. Get ready for sociallized med’s and Fed programs galore. Ill just pay for myself and stay out of it. Ill have the last laugh, count on that.

You say everything is messed up, well I say you are right, but the liberals are the reason we are tanking. Yet another undeniable fact. Once people figured out they could VOTE themselves into someone else’s wallet it was over.

March 4th, 2006 12:28 pm

Oh…one more thing…on the W lied about WMDs thing…. Read this:

http://www.opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=110007540

If you read that and EVER say W lied about WMD’s again, you are denying the facts, an incredible liberal skill.

—————————————
From the article:

Among the many distortions, misrepresentations and outright falsifications that have emerged from the debate over Iraq, one in particular stands out above all others. This is the charge that George W. Bush misled us into an immoral or unnecessary war in Iraq by telling a series of lies that have now been definitively exposed.

What makes this charge so special is the amazing success it has enjoyed in getting itself established as a self-evident truth even though it has been refuted and discredited over and over again by evidence and argument alike. In this it resembles nothing so much as those animated cartoon characters who, after being flattened, blown up or pushed over a cliff, always spring back to life with their bodies perfectly intact. Perhaps, like those cartoon characters, this allegation simply cannot be killed off, no matter what.

Nevertheless, I want to take one more shot at exposing it for the lie that it itself really is. Although doing so will require going over ground that I and many others have covered before, I hope that revisiting this well-trodden terrain may also serve to refresh memories that have grown dim, to clarify thoughts that have grown confused, and to revive outrage that has grown commensurately dulled.

—————————————

It is a great read. I challenge liberals to read it. REALLY read it and think about it. Try to leave your hatred for W out of it and turn your emotions OFF.

“Wisdom” is the ability to know when to listen to your HEAD or your HEART. Rarely in politics do you need your HEART.

I’d rather go hunting with Cheney than take a ride in the car with Teddy Kennedy.

March 4th, 2006 2:35 pm

Now that Im on a roll here…considering WMD’s…lets here what the Democratic LEADERSHIP has to say about WMDs:

http://media1.streamtoyou.com/rnc/111505.wmv

“I voted for it before I voted against it.” Liberals cant make up their minds.

March 4th, 2006 2:35 pm

oops…typo: here=hear.

March 4th, 2006 5:01 pm

You went on a tear while I was reading that article. As you suggest, it is extremely interesting and well-written. I stand corrected about the WMDs. This is some information that I had never read before. There are still questions for me, but it does go a long way to show that Bush parroted that which he believed.

What I do find interesting is this last paragraph of the article:
“And so long as we are hunting for liars in this area, let me suggest that we begin with the Democrats now proclaiming that they were duped, and that we then broaden out to all those who in their desperation to delegitimize the larger policy being tested in Iraq–the policy of making the Middle East safe for America by making it safe for democracy–have consistently used distortion, misrepresentation and selective perception to vilify as immoral a bold and noble enterprise and to brand as an ignominious defeat what is proving itself more and more every day to be a victory of American arms and a vindication of American ideals.”

It crystallizes for me, to some degree, what may be my problem with this administration and its policies. Perhaps, it’s more than the fact that I simply don’t like whatever it is I know about Bush the man. It seems to be that he and I, and probably you, have a different conception of America and democracy.

It’s not a fully-formed thought, yet, but I wonder how different we can be from the Soviets of the late 50s? We are both imperialistic and are trying to spread our vision and form of government regardless of the desire of those who we seek to “enlighten.” There is a religious fervor to both countries desire to see its way of life spread.

The only difference is that there seems to be a part of Bush’s policy and perhaps American patriotism that thinks it is somehow divinely more appropriate for mankind. That is, the Soviets religiosity is ironically anti-religion, but this current administration has no problem invoking God and his blessings on what we are doing. It is a haughty and disastrous notion to think that were are not only better than those who we are “liberating” but that God thinks so also. That’s a frightening notion.

Perhaps, it is that condescension that I rail against with Bush as its figurehead.

March 4th, 2006 6:26 pm

You have to realize that this administration is tuly dividing your country, and that also has huge effets on the rest of the world. This isn’t about America alone, try an look out. I’m European and a world citizen and follow the news thoroughly. The world is pretty messed up and it’s getting worse, but I agree that we should focus on positivity, together. There’s no escape anymore, we have to face what’s coming up, global warming being one of the top issues to be addressed.
But frankly, as an external eye, I see that the USA is getting deeply divided, and this could well be the reason for its own destruction. Be careful with yourselves.

thank you for saying exactly what I think as well. He is a complete idiot.

March 7th, 2006 12:31 pm

OpinionJournal is one of the most conservative publications there are. Let’s be clear about that. Of course they will support W on WMD. I wouldn’t take their point of view on WMD any more than I would listen to what Howard Dean has to say about it.

All we have to do it listen to what W said. He said all evidence points toward WMD in Iraq. That was BS then, and it is BS now. The Bristish even said, the intelligence was being turn to support the outcome.

But back to the point of the post, as we are getting side-tracked. W said, Brownie is doin’ a heckava job. W said no one could have predicted the levee’s would fail. All of that is untrue.

One more thing… if the Dem’s don’t have a plan and are so scattered… and the Repub’s have a plan and are so well organized… then how’s come when W won the white house, it was the closest election in history? If the Dems are so dang well unorganized and without a plan, the Repub’s should be wiping the floor with them (but they’re not).

I agree with you what you said about bush

Well said, my friend. Let’s get that addlebrained buffoon out office before it is too late.

Wait….this just in……ladies and gentlemen, it appears that it IS too late. We have already been made the laughingstock of the entire world.

“There has been a $30M / yearly budget to “fix” the N.O. levees for decades now that typically got re-routed into other “projects”.”

Sorry but that was $300,000,000, not $30,000,000.

Also, mission accomplished.

Seriously.

Have you seen how well the oil industry is doing? You think we went to Iraq for their oil?

This makes me giggle.

May 8th, 2007 12:55 pm

ya’ll need to shut up..first of all if we leave iraq right now with bin laden still out there than how do we know hes not gonna do anything to us?? and the whole new orleans thing its not bush’s fault..he sent money to them but THE GOVERNOR or whoever is in control of new orleans shouldve done something instead of backing off and making it look like its bush’s fault….and dont be whining about taking the troups out of iraq cuz they signed up for this, they were trained to do this..they wouldn’tve joined the army if they didnt want to fight in war, so dont be whining over them when maybe they want to do this…so ya’ll are not thinking clear!!
