Someone who smokes takes pleasure in it (unless he becomes dependent on it, as an alcoholic might).

I draw the interesting parallel that for all the diatribe about 'pro-life', the religious fanatics are ones who believe in the importance of life after death above current life! This life loses meaning to them face 'eternal life', whatever that means. Quite hypocritical, yes.

Of course, you could be anti-abortion and not be religious, but then I suspect you wouldn't label yourself 'pro-life'.

The term "pro-life" is a propaganda term that's essentially meaningless. The same people who allege to be "pro-life" are usually pro-war, pro-gun, anti-welfare, etc. Basically, they promote a culture of death, and could be labeled "pro-death."

A better term than "pro-life" is "anti-women." People need to start seeing abortion as a women's rights issue rather than something about fetuses. Planned parenthood has a compelling case for abortion rights on its web site.

Can someone born before 1973 be pro-choice?

Their mother's didn't have the right to an abortion before Roe V. Wade and should allow their mothers to retroactively make the choice now if they choose, since control over their mother's own bodies was denied them when they were being carried.
